Melissa Hill

Melissa Hill has been developing running programs and coaching personal clients and teams, since 1997.   Melissa has been involved in running since high school when she first saw her triplet brother run the mile. She joined the high school track team and has been running ever since. She was the AAU Texas state high jump champion in 1978. During her collegiate career, she ran cross country, 400m hurdles, and the 4 x 400m.

Coach Hill established school based running programs when she moved to Portland, Oregon in 1997. Concerned about the fitness of area youth, she introduced running clubs at three area elementary schools and organized and was head coach of the cross country and track and field teams at West Sylvan Middle School, also volunteering as a coach for Lincoln High School cross country and track and field teams. She coached private clients (adults and youth), and worked with Nike Sports Center for 12 years, co-coaching Bowerman Athletic Club workouts.  In addition, she was an orginal member and coach for Team Athena, a women's running group in Portland.

Melissa earned a Level II USATF coaching certification in July 2002, a Level I in January 2001, has completed several Advanced Distance seminars, and holds a B.S. degree inclusive of 20 credits of exercise science. Currently Melissa serves as president of Runner2Runner LLC,, co-founder and co-head coach of Women's Running Coaches Collective.
